After installing the Scott HP kit w/ Gunghoe this weekend... (btw see his post in tech please and read my addl info reply) [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=872356 ] I also decided to remove the sound rings off my BOV's. After having them for a long time now, the sound has gotten kind of anoying. (still love them though) For those that are curious on which allens to remove. They are displayed below as the ones in asteric. This will remove the casing allowing you to pop out the sound ring. ............O.....* .........*...........O .........O...........* ............*.....OThis will be a noob comment as I try to describe the sound w/out a sound clip but here it goes. So we all know for the most part how Apex sound like... PSSSssshhhhhhh After removing the sound rings besides being VEEEERRRRYYY quiet to the point where you almost can't hear them. They sound like so. TSSshhhhuuuuuuu. I let my friends listen to it as I drove past them under almost full boost and said it sounded better in his opinion but he said it's still loud. I have very sensitive ears and with my windows up can BARELY hear them. With windows down it's still quiet. I think I'll keep it like this for a while but it feels like I don't have BOV's. I'm sure Gunghoe will post pics of our HP's soon and embarrass me with my duct taped intake.
